Morgan Creek International’s film library holds 64 titles including Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves and the Ace Ventura and Major League franchises. The acquisition announced today means Revolution now has 114 movies and 240 TV episodes in its library to exploit, and the deal is the first major acquisition completed under its new ownership, a buyout that effectively ended the reign of founder Joe Roth (he became a strategic adviser and has a first-look TV deal with the new owners).

Revolution Studios Buys International Rights to Morgan Creek’s Library for $36.8 Million

Revolution Studios has acquired the international distribution rights and copyrights of Morgan Creek’s film library for $36.75 million, the company said Tuesday. Morgan Creek retains domestic rights.

The complete library includes 64 titles, including “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” and its sequel, “The Last of the Mohicans,” “Young Guns,” the “Major League” franchise and “The Whole Nine Yards,” the latter of which was part of Eli Samaha’s Franchise Films.
