LOS ANGELES, CA (September 30, 2015) – Revolution Studios today announced its purchase of a 50-percent ownership stake in the acclaimed motion picture The Ides of March.

The acquisition completes a two-picture deal with Cross Creek Pictures following Revolution’s purchase of a 50-percent stake in 2010 Best Picture Oscar®-nominee Black Swan earlier this year.

The Ides of March (2011) is directed by two-time Oscar-winner George Clooney and stars Oscar-nominee Ryan Gosling (Drive, Half Nelson), Clooney (Up in the Air, Syriana), Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman (Doubt, Capote), Oscar-nominee Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man, Sideways), two-time Golden Globe-nominee Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler, Thirteen) and Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler, My Cousin Vinny) in a taut political drama set during a no-holds-barred presidential campaign. The film grossed over $75 million worldwide and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The remaining 50-percent share of The Ides of March continues to be held by production company Exclusive Media Group.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to buy an equity stake in these two great films,” said Chief Operating Officer Scott Hemming. “These are exactly the types of properties we are looking for as we continue to expand Revolution’s catalog through strategic acquisitions.”

Added Revolution Chief Executive Officer Vince Totino: “The Ides of March is part of a rare breed of film that offers smart, filmmaker-driven storytelling and extremely satisfying entertainment. That combination has made them popular with critics and audiences alike the world over. Along with Black Swan, these two films make outstanding additions to Revolution’s growing library of evergreen properties.”
